Nintendo's first basketball game for the Game Boy Color features the endorsement of superstar Kobe Bryant, which continues the relationship established in 1998's Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside for the Nintendo 64. Yet unlike a traditional game of basketball, this handheld version of the sport features three-on-three action from a three-quarter view of the court. As the title suggests, the game includes an official NBA license for authentic teams and players with statistics based on the 1998-99 season. Rosters reflect the start of the 1999-2000 season, and players are rated in 12 different skills categories like shooting, steals, blocking and passing, among others. Three different game modes are available before you hit the hardwood: Pickup, Season and Playoffs.
